Nikolai Bunkin

Prokhorov General Physics Institute, Russia

Area of his scientific interest is mostly associated with experimental laser physics, in particular, the interaction of laser radiation with liquid media. He developed a non-invasive technique to study the formation of the Exclusion Zone in water near the Nafion interface; this technique is based upon taking the photoluminescence spectra in geometry of grazing incidence of the pump radiation on the interface. Furthermore, by using various laser methods, he obtained a direct proof of the existence of ion-stabilized gas nanobubbles (bubstons) in the bulk aqueous electrolyte solutions.
